Cricket – The World Cup
The ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup is an international cricket tournament organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) contested by national under-19 teams on 3 February 2018.India won the match by defeating Australia in the finals and bagged the world cup for the fourth time. India returned home with the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup on Monday. The Newly-crowned ICC U-19 World Champions were accorded a warm welcome on their arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport by the senior officials of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), in Mumbai.
Finally, the World cup champions reached Mumbai with the World cup.
Shooting Event – ISSF
ISSF (International Shooting Sports Federation) is the governing body of the Olympic Shooting events in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun disciplines, and of several non-Olympic Shooting sports events. The 2018 ISSF is ongoing in Mexico. An Indian shooter, Shahzar Rizvi won the gold in the ISSF World Cup men’s with a world record score of 10m air pistol. He won by defeating Christian Reitz, the world record holder of Germany in the final. He won by striking a score of 242.3 in ISSF.
The other young scholars Deepak Kumar and Mehuli Ghosh also help India to win the 6th medal in the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Mexico. Because of their excellence, they were qualified in third place for the finals with a score of 834.3. Deepak Kumar and Ghosh won India a Bronze in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event.
Like all other sports, India also clinched Gold and Bronze medals in Shooting, with legendary shooters.
