The world’s last male northern white rhino is now no more.Yes!! The 45-year-old Sudan has died today(21/03/2018) due to ill health.

Sudan’s ill health:

Sudan was born in 1943, lived at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya. Sudan’s age is equivalent to 90 in human years, was the last survived male of the rarer variety after the natural death of a second male in late 2014.

Samuel Mutisya, head of conservation at Ol Pejeta Conservancy said about giant white rhino, Sudan.

They added for the last 9 years, Sudan has been an integral part of the Ol Pejeta family and it is extremely hard to come to grips with the reality that he is gone forever.

He was unable to stand up and suffered a great deal in his last 24 hours, Sudan was put down by veterinarians at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

Because of its extinction, the researchers trying to preserve the creature by engaging In vitro Fertilization (IVF) techniques.

“His death is a cruel symbol of human disregard for nature and it saddened everyone who knew him,” said Jan Stejskal, an official at Dvur Kralove Zoo in the Czech Republic, where Sudan had lived until 2009.

Now, at last only 2 two northern white rhinos remain — Sudan’s daughter and granddaughter. 

The death of gentle giant Sudan is really a big loss for the world.
