An Air India Express Flight overshot the runway as it was making its landing in Mumbai at 2.51 pm on Tuesday. All passengers are safe and no injuries have been reported. A team of engineers from Air India Express is inspecting the airplane.
The Air India Express Flight IX 213 was bound for Mumbai from Vijayawada. The Boeing 737 aircraft overshot the runway due to the slippery condition of the same, from the rains which have been plaguing the city for the past two weeks.
There were reportedly 89 people aboard, all of whom are safe.
ANI tweeted an official statement from the CEO of Air India Express saying, “Air India Express flight IX 213 from Vijayawada to Mumbai, landed & came to halt deep into the runway at 2:51 pm, overshooting the runway.
